Description /
The philosophy of this project is to make a strong gesture to be the emblem of the School of Engineers in the ISTASE, and at the same time its association with the site of the centre Optics. His architectural training translates into a "blade of glass," a large volume of arrivals just connect the new school of engineering the "Court of materials" through the building I. Point of reference of the district, this blade refers to the training of Engineers Optics of ISTASE, the symbol of the activity carried on the centre Optics contiguous, and the representation of new technologies that are developed. It works like a spine that concentrates the bulk of traffic vertical and horizontal flows of heat, electricity by photovoltaic panels on the roof and on its southern facade, the breakdown of the air shaft by a Canadian ... The constraints of the site and the program gives rise to a draft compact. The free area can offer a breath between the existing and expansion resulting in a building a "u" around a patio planted, crossed by the blade of glass: amphitheatres being arranged on the right wing , The restaurant on the left wing and teaching centre on 3 levels. The patio reproduces the typology of the Court of Contents extending the heart of ISTASE The layout also shows 2 lines of bias, language used to mark the school entrance and the restaurant. The composition of the facades is expressed by a treatment of "skin", a composite siding appearance, silvery reflective. Glazing silver hues mingle with full metal, releasing a volume glittering under games of shadows and lights.
