- The project SDIS 42 is both a rehabilitation of existing buildings and an extension.
The fire service department and rescue of the Loire occupy a cramped site, purchased the town of Saint Etienne a building when unoccupied. The difficulty of the project has been to develop this site, not scheduled to host the hotel.
The most significant response was to restructure the access and vertical circulation. It was then creates a new, contemporary language, completely detached from the existing volume of the entrance. The lobby is contained in a sober, very enlightened who can read a loophole in all administrative levels and thus reach the heart of the building presenting himself before the monumental staircase.
The site also had to live together a repair shop and storage of emergency vehicles. This is a simple parallelepiped a box with red indicating the space of offices, in contrast with the linear sectional doors.
Work on the outdoors has come to complete this project. He has been to develop a front for the main entrance, parking, sports, a lawn and an area of official representation.
